DI's Notebook (9 Dec) : And so the season comes to its end and we have our champions. Bit off with the tips, Claire was in the top ten but in fact James L led the way despite having no VER is his squad and Niel was bottom while DI's tip Richard was 4th "best". F1DT great Rob did indeed close the gap on Peter at the top but not by enough so Peter is our new champion and he lands his first ever title after being close in previous years and being one of the very few who have been in F1DT since day one. Not only that, he won the Cup as well to land a notable double. Rob finishes second as well as posting a highest and lowest score in the same season (and he is another 24 year F1DT competitor) while Anne-Marie (who was never out of the top ten) completes the end of season podium. This week after James L we had Rob, Neil, Anne-Marie, Luke, Chris, Claire, Toby, Tom and Louise. Liam finished 4th in the Championship, then Mr. T, Louise, Neil, Tom and James L (biggest climber with Joseph) while Terrie, despite being outscored by 17 points by Gary clung on to claim the top rookie title by 5 points - what a finish! At the bottom Niel "led" the way then we had Pascale, John Fi, Richard, David, DW, James K, Ross, Ben and Chris R. Richard lifts his 4th Turner (equal with the great John T) ahead of David, Pascale, Ross, Dan, Pauline, John Fi, Dan, Chris R (top Turner rookie, in the bottom ten, a great achievement) and George K. Paul lands the Global mini-league yet despite winning none of the mini-leagues Peter lifts the overall title - a demonstration of his remarkable consistency across a long season. Now we have a break until it all starts again in March in Australia as F1DT hits the quarter of a century mark - a testament to DW's staying power and genius!
